European workshop in Rome about the professional skills, training needs, trends and employment opportunities of the creative and cultural Sector.

In conjunction with the final meeting of the European project ArtS – Skills for the creative economy funded by the Erasmus Plus program, Melting Pro and Fondazione Exclusiva organize a talk to discuss about the professional skills, training needs, trends and employment opportunities of the creative and cultural sector .

Private foundations of great importance engaged in actions aimed at bringing young people to the professions of the future will intervene, sharing good practices.

Starting from the results of the research, the debate will focus on the most requested skills and innovations necessary to work in the creative sector, by virtue of a rapidly changing, competitive, globalized and digital labor market.

The initiative will be held on the 14th of March 2018 in the afternoon at the headquarters of the Fondazione Exclusiva of Rome.

The European workshop of the FRIENDS PROJECT “Fostering Resilience-Inclusive Education and Non-Discrimination in Schools” will take place at Villa Montesca in Città di Castello (Italy) on 19-20/02/2018 . The project has been funded by the Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency of the European Commission in the framework of the Erasmus Plus Programme Key Action 3: Support for policy reform.

The general objective of the FRIENDS project is to disseminate and scaling up on a broader European context, including replicating on a wider scale, in new countries and at higher level, an innovative but well-researched whole-school approach — known as the Quiet Time based on the Transcendental Meditation (TM) programme for schools — in answer to the Paris Declaration, that has been proved to be effective in promoting inclusive learning and in enabling students to succeed in education and to develop their full potential irrespective of their socio-economic backgrounds, while supporting teachers in dealing with diversity, thus contributing to improving the role of the Education Training and Youth system in promoting equality, social cohesion, nurturing mutual respect and intercultural dialogue, combating discrimination on all grounds and contributing to establishing a solid evidence leading to a mainstreaming roadmap for effective policy-making at European and National level, as a key factor for promoting continued improvement in education systems across Europe.

The Foundation Villa Montesca will take part in the meeting on behalf of the Partnership, presenting the actions developed and the products realized so far together with colleagues from Bulgaria, Greece, Spain, Turkey and with all the schools involved from these Countries in the project activities.

The Department of Political Science, University of Perugia, in collaboration with the Regional Anti-corruption Initiative (RAI), European Anti-Fraud Office (OLAF) and Italian National Anticorruption Authority (ANAC) are implementing an international Winter School on Fighting Corruption with Administrative Measures and Supporting Development of New Anti-Corruption Policies, that is taking place in Rome and in Città di Castello at Villa Montesca (Province of Perugia, Umbria), from 22 January to 2 February, 2018.

The Winter School is an intensive programme designed for professionals looking to consolidate their experience and enlarge their competences on curbing corruption, with particular attention to the misuse of European funds. Interdisciplinary in nature, it addresses trends and practices on the international anti-corruption arena and promotes culture of prevention. The Winter School aims to provide training on the administrative enforcement actions, the sharing of good practices and the development of regional networks of experts and public officials.

By integrating theory and practice, the Winter School will equip participants with a deeper understanding of the intricacies of corruption, tools to assess best practices and cross-sectoral challenges, and frameworks to devise durable anti-corruption strategies. Participants will be exposed to the latest insights from Europe-leading experts and will have the opportunity to develop a strong network with peers in the same field. The Winter School consists of approximately 80 lecture hours, roundtable discussions, group work, teambuilding activities and social events.

Promoting the teaching of art to foster inclusion and integration of migrant children at school: let’s start the “ArtsTogether” project in Athens

The ArtsTogether project Integrating migrant children at schools through artistic expression, that is funded with the support of the Directorate General Migration and Home Affairs – AMIF of the European Comission, aims to promote the teaching of art in order to foster inclusion and integration of migrants children at school.

The ArtsTogether project aims at developing and testing a curriculum based on artistic activities and collaborative approaches that will be used in order to equip teachers for dealing with diversity, fostering mutual understanding and respect among their students and improve the educational performance of migrant students. The activities will have direct beneficiaries, children of migrant background which will create a collaborative space with native children and will overcome linguistic and cultural barriers. The action will be mainstreamed by organizing events with educational organisation and public authorities providing policy recommendations at educational and schooling level.

The kick-off meeting of the consortium of the Project will take place at Four Elements in Athens, Greece on 10-11/01/2018.

Promoting social inclusion, tolerance and non-discrimination at school with the Transcendental Meditation: European workshop in Faro

The European workshop of the EUROPE Project “Ensuring Unity and Respect as Outcomes for the People of Europe” will take place in Faro (Portugal) on 04-05-06/12/2017 . The project has been funded by the Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency of the European Commission in the framework of the Erasmus Plus Programme Key Action 3: Support for policy reform.

The EUROPE project focuses on the implementation in a broader European context of a novel approach, known as the Quiet Time programme based on Transcendental Meditation (Quiet Time/TM) for schools, that has the potential to contribute to National and European strategies in answer to the Paris Declaration, being a whole-school proven approach for promoting social inclusion, tolerance, non-discrimination, personal development and other factors that prevent violent extremism, and to lead to a mainstreaming roadmap for evidence based policy actions/guidance at European and National level, thus helping to foster the role of education in promoting equality, social cohesion, nurturing mutual respect and embedding fundamental values in society.

This original, unconventional, pioneering, learner-centred approach in the field of education, training and youth, addresses the root-cause of negative attitudes and violence and promotes tolerance amongst diverse populations by promoting the psycho-physiological well-being of students, including those with disadvantaged backgrounds, and by allowing the experience of profound inner peace and calmness, thereby providing participants with the unifying experience of the source of all diversity. The Quiet Time/TM programme is easy to implement at all levels of education, easy to learn and religion and philosophy neutral.

“Fall School” in Italy for the LIFE Project: 6 days training activities for teachers and educators on the themes of the religion teaching and of the intercultural dialogue

3-8 December 2017: 6 days training activities for teachers and educators coming from Bulgaria, Greece, Italy, Spain, Turkey on the themes of the religion teaching and of the intercultural dialogue.

Experts with competences of teaching religion in the primary and secondary school in Countries with various and different institutional contexts will attend the activities, exchanging knowledge and educational experiences. The purpose of the Fall School is to promote an innovative didactic of religion and enhance intercultural dialogue and inter religious practices.

The main value of European citizenship is its dynamic and dialogical character: it is inclusive and based on the cultural diversity of its memberships. For this reason, since religion is a paradigmatic element of culture, the development of religious pluralism and the implementation of tools to ensure it, especially within schools, are relevant aspects in order to save the intercultural dimension of Europe. In this sense, education to religious pluralism is a key to achieve civil awareness and social cohesion in the construction of a democratic model of European citizenship.

The LIFE project is focused on an innovative, participatory-based, pedagogical method for developing transversal skills related to multiculturalism and integration. It aims to ensure first and foremost the right of children to be fully integrated through adequate intercultural and inter-religious mediation.
