ITALY – Fondazione Hallgarten-Franchetti Centro Studi Villa Montesca (FCSVM) is a non profit organisation for educational research and professional training, education, cultural and local development. It develops innovative educational initiatives and offers a broad spectrum of multi-disciplinary research expertises and training activities. The history of Villa Montesca is intertwined with the history of education. In fact, in 1909 the Montessori Scientific pedagogic method applied to child education was written in Villa Montesca  and  published in Città di Castello.  In the spirit of its founders, FCSVM, supported by the Municipality of Città di Castello, the Umbria Region and by the Perugia District, today realizes and experiments new didactical methods and pedagogic perspectives in order to support children throughout their education. The methodologies, based also on the new technologies, are applied to both adult learners and students with special needs. For these reasons the work of FCSVM focuses on establishing European and national networks aimed to support the educational environment in all its forms.

Nowadays FCSVM has an international reputation for excellence in research and training and has extensive experience of managing inter-disciplinary project teams with researchers from within the University and also from external bodies. FCSVM develops paths for permanent education through methods and approaches based on social network as well as on democratic participation; it organises high level training courses for young people also to favour intra-European mobility.


SPAIN – San Jorge University  (FUSJ) is a non-profit organization dedicated to training and research, recognized as University in 2005 by the Government of Aragon. Its mission is to serve society by creating and transmitting knowledge and contributing to the formation of integrity and good professionals.

The university is composed by different knowledge areas (degrees, master and doctorate):

  • Faculty of Health Sciences (pharmacy, nursing, physiotherapy and sport sciences)
  • Faculty of Communication Sciences (Journalism, Advertising and Public Relations, Translation & Intercultural Communication, Visual Communication, Marketing). Education area includes Infant Education, Primary Education and Secondary Education and Training and Teaching of Languages.
  • Polytechnic School (Computer Sciences)
  • Architecture School
  • School of Governance and Leadership: Administration and Business Management

Moreover there are three integrated research institutes:

  • Aragon’s Institute of Environment and Sustainability
  • Institute of Humanism & Society

BULGARIA – Center for Educational Initiatives (CEI) is a non-governmental, non-profit association aimed at enhancing innovative educational initiatives and facilitating educational reforms in the Bulgarian educational system. The main objectives of the organization are to encourage co-operation in the field of education on local, regional and European level, to implement new teaching methods, mainly based on ICT, and to enhance co-operation between public institutions, educational and scientific organizations and NGOs at all levels via professional networks and platforms.

CEI is managed by its Board. The operational work is structured in two departments and supervised by two program directors – Administration and finances and Educational programs. The CEI activities involve more than 30 experts with different professional background and experience.

The expertise of CEI embraces the following spheres:

  1. Training of teachers;
  2. E-learning education;
  3. Promotion of innovative practices;
  4. Informational campaigns;
  5. Organization of conferences, seminars and workshops;
  6. Organization of public discussions and debates;
  7. Research and fieldwork.


GREECE – EDRA (Social cooperative activities for vulnerable groups) is a Non for Profit organization that provides  specialized services in the Mental Health and Learning Disabilities sector  and also social and welfare services for disadvantaged groups of people. It was established in 2001.

EDRA is certified with ISO 9001:2008, registered at the National Registry of the Non for Profit Private Bodies that provide Social Services and in the Special Registry of the Volunteer Non for Profit Organizations. Simultaneously it is under the auspice and the ongoing supervision of the Ministry of Health and Social Services (Department of Mental Health) in the National Action Framework for the reformation of the provision of Mental Health Services (creation and operation of two boarding houses for mental patients).

EDRA has been involved in many projects promoting equality, human rights, anti-discrimination, ecc. As far as children are concerned, EDRA offfers special education services to more than 800 children daily in 13 psychopedagogic centers. Programs that are offered within the centers include: speech therapy, occupational therapy, special education, psycholological counselling childen and adolescents, parents counselling.


TURKEY – EGECED is a non-profit association founded by the professionals from education field (teachers, trainers, academicians, managers and supervisors). Members of EGECED are part of  a network of schools which include general, vocational and special education schools. It is a network of schools. EGECED has a broad reach to local schools in primary and secondary level and also cooperation with universities. The objectives of EGECED are to gather the professionals who work in the area of the education to contribute to the improvement of the quality of education and to introduce modern applications into education system, to contribute to the development of sustainable exchange between educational professionals in Turkey and Europe.

EGECED has a broad experience in EU project and project management. Members of association have very high competences in research and evaluation. Experts who will be involved in the project are familiar with European policies, strategies and priorities of education and inclusion of children with special needs as well as of LLP and its procedures and they can contribute also with these competencies. They will cooperate to meet the overall objectives of the project. By participating this project EGECED believes that the exchange of good practices will contribute to the improvement of the both its teacher-members and also teachers who work in the schools within the EGECED’s network.

The project partners have been chosen in order to have the highest spectrum of competences needed to accomplish all the project aims. Specific attention has been paid to the capacity to involve direct experiences of subjects involved in multicultural processes. The academic background and resources of  most of the partners will assure a qualified approach in this specific area of spiritual and religious studies. Different religious approaches will be represented in the partnership: the network will represent islamic, orthodox and catholic expressions. Some of the partner are very experienced in LLP dissemination of results to a wider public composed not only by experts and school operators, but also by people interested in the application of the participatory approach.

The presence in the partnership of a large number of schools emphasizes the specific expected impact as a contribution to change the educative style versus the introduction of the participatory parameters.
